So I've been quite busy with work in the 1st month of the semester and have been neglecting this site for a while. However, do expect some minor revisions with its layout and more updates to this blog in the coming weeks. I am currently handling producer duties for my final year project and will post the progression images once I get the green light to do so.
The following are some sketches done for my concept art class. We're supposed to design an entire world where a clash between 2 factions take place. It is broken down into gods, demigods, mortals, props, vehicles and environment. I chose to depict the fantasized battle between Christianity and Shinto, inspired by the actual conflict between the 2 parties in the 1500-1600s in Japan. My main source of inspiration for this assignment is Joe Madureira, particularly his work for the Darksiders franchise. I like his use of line quality to separate elements in his drawings (which are usually cluttered with details and hatching). His characters' proportions is also something that I hope to emulate.
